Amapiano artists Mpura and Killer Kau killed in car accident

Mpura and Killer Kau, two South African performers, were killed in a car accident that killed six people

Six individuals died in a head-on collision on the N4 in Rustenburg, South Africa, on August 7th, a representative for the department of transport, highways and community safety confirmed to Times Live. That night, the two were on their way to perform in the city.

Times Live has the story. In addition to Khanya “The Voice” Hadebe, DJ Thando Tot, and TD, three more upcoming artists were murdered in the tragedy. An investigation into alleged criminal activity has been begun by the police.

Killer Kau, 23, became an internet celebrity in 2017 after DJ Euphoric spotted a video of him playing his debut track “Tholukuthi Hey!” on Twitter and snatched it up. The song would go on to become a massive hit in South Africa. Mpura had just gained popularity, thanks to his collaboration with Busta 929 on the 2020 hit “Umsebenzi Wethu.”
