Moshidi Motshegwa was born in Alexandra, Gauteng, to strict parents, one of whom was a principal. She received a bursary to attend the National School of the Arts. She continued her education at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Career

She was a judge on the first season of SABC 1’s reality show So You Think You’re Funny! in 2008, and the second season of the show in 2009. She produced Call Me Thief, a 2016 feature film that was chosen as South Africa’s entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, but was not nominated.

In the 1997 made-for-TV film Mandela and de Klerk, she played Nelson Mandela’s daughter Zinzi. Florence Nxumalo has appeared in films such as Hijack Stories, Critical Assignment, The African Story, and Drum.
