Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and entrepreneur. Forbes, who was born and bred in Cape Town, Western Cape, rose to prominence after the publication of his debut album, Altar Ego, and his single “Victory Lap.”

AKA is a Hip Hop recording artist, event MC, and music producer who is a member of the well-known South African music production group I.V League. In 2004, they were nominated for a Kora award as part of the group Entity.

AKA TMs most notable appearances were as a support act for Rick Ross at a concert in Cape Town and at the ESPN Annual Basketball Event in Pretoria, South Africa (2010). He is the mastermind behind singles like “I Want It All” (with Khuli Chana and Prokid) and “Victory Lap” (from his 2011 debut album Alter Ego).
